Relax and Release Tension with the Supine Bound Angle Pose (Video Included)

Today I want to introduce you to a relaxing yoga pose that works wonders at the end of a workday. This pose is called the "supported supine bound angle (or butterfly or cobbler) pose." In Sanskrit, the pose is called "Supta Baddha Konasana."
This pose, done while lying on your back, is wonderfully relaxing and provides a gentle release of tension in your hips, chest, and shoulders. It's a great pose to counteract the ill effects of too much sitting. I love to get into this pose for 3-5 minutes at the end of the workday (instead of pouring myself a drink as soon as work is done).
I recommend grabbing two pillows and two yoga blocks to set up for this posture. If you don't own yoga blocks, you could use a mix of bolsters, rolled-up blankets, or extra pillows.
I created a short YouTube video to show you the setup and how to get in and out of this pose:
I hope you enjoy it!
Best,
Christine
