10 tips to get back into your routine

As soon as Labor Day rolled around, my life suddenly got super busy. I am feeling pulled in so many directions. Are you experiencing it too? 🍁
Transitioning from those laid-back summer vibes to a more structured routine can be a bit of a challenge. Whether you work from home, juggle a busy life, or are retired, most of us struggle with the transition.
So, how do you find your routine again?
Don't worry, I've got your back.
Here are 10 tips to help you find, establish, and keep a routine that'll make you feel awesome this fall.
1. Start Small
Don't overwhelm yourself by trying to change everything at once. Pick one or two small habits to start with, like going to bed by 10 p.m. or doing a daily 15-minute yoga routine.
2. Set Specific Goals
Vague goals like "I want to be healthier" won't cut it. Make your goals specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). For example, "I will practice yoga in my living room for 15 minutes 5 days a week at 8 a.m."
3. Prioritize
Decide what's most important to you and make it non-negotiable in your routine. If yoga practice is a must, block out time for it like you would for an important meeting.
4. Plan the Night Before
Before you hit the pillow, jot down your to-dos for the next day. This way, you'll wake up with a clear plan and won't waste time figuring out what to do.
5. Use Reminders
Set alarms or notifications to remind you of your new habits. It's easy to forget when you're just starting out.
6. Be Consistent
Consistency is key. The more you stick to your routine, the easier it'll become. If you miss a day, don't sweat it—just get back on track the next day. Try not to miss two days in a row.
7. Involve Your Partner
If you live with someone, why not involve them in your routine? It's easier to stick to a plan when you have someone to hold you accountable.
8. Track Your Progress
Keep a journal or use an app to track how you're doing. Download and print your very own Habit Tracker: Habit Tracker.pdf. Be sure to celebrate the small wins to keep yourself motivated.

9. Be Flexible
Life happens, and that's okay. If something comes up and disrupts your routine, adjust and move on. Being too rigid can set you up for failure.
10. Review and Tweak
After a few weeks, review your routine. Is it working for you? Make any necessary tweaks and keep going.
So there you have it: a roadmap to help you reset your routine and make this fall your best one yet.
Best,
Christine
