There is this myth out there at you need to be young, skinny, and flexible to do yoga!

And social media perpetuates that myth!

Just scroll down any yoga-themed social media accounts and you will see endless images of half-naked women (and some men) in their 20s doing sexy poses to promote their yoga business (or their bodies?)

It drives me crazy.

It gives a false impression that our bodies — no matter what shape or age - are not perfect as they are and that we shouldn’t try yoga because we won’t fit in.

I call bull**t on that!

I’m over 50. I weighed 200 pounds at one time. I could barely touch my toes when I started yoga.

I certainly don't fit the mold of young, skinny, and super flexible.

I am a 51-year old yoga teacher, inviting everyone who is NOT young, skinny, and flexible to experience the amazing benefits of yoga: a positive mindset, better balance, and — eventually — improved flexibility.

So if you have been hesitant to try out my online yoga classes (for whatever reasons), I invite you to join me next Sunday (October 31) for a super fun 80's-inspired Halloween yoga class. Beginners welcome!

Let's "yoga together" to uplifting 80's music! I'll be wearing my best 80's aerobics outfit. Remember when we wore leg warmers, wristbands, and a headband? A costume is optional, but if you wear one, you'll be eligible to win a prize!

If you have never done yoga before, this class will give you a fun and encouraging first yoga experience. I promise!
