There is nothing fearful about beginning yoga

I'm here to guide you as you begin your yoga journey

Today (October 29) is #NationalCatDay. It's the purrfect day to give extra attention to our feline friends. But then, if you ask me, every day is the purrfect day to show our kitties some extra love 😍.

My cat, Ms. Ringtail, had her annual check-up this week. Her vet makes house calls, so it's not a particularly stressful experience for her (she doesn't have to get into a carrier for transportation).

I'm always so impressed by how the vet can hold my cat in such a way that she becomes putty in his arms. She allows the vet to give her a full body check-up, trim her nails, and even vaccinate her, without any fuss.

Contrast that with when I try to smear yummy-smelling, maple-flavored hairball medicine on her nose or paw so she'll lick it off: As soon as I pick her up and she smells the medicine, Ms. Ringtail behaves as if I'm about to murder her. She yowls bloody murder and runs for cover!

It's interesting how easily things come to us when we become experts (my vet = expert at handling animals; me = not so much).

It's the same with yoga or any other activity we start. At first, it seems difficult and we wonder how others make it look so effortless. But over time, it becomes easy breezy (and, as an aside, we often forget to give ourselves credit for our transformation; shame on us!).

There is nothing fearful about beginning yoga. I'm here to guide you! 🧘🏻‍♀️
