How to make the most of your summer

so you can go into fall refreshed and energized

Happy 4th of July weekend (if you live in 🇺🇸), and happy summer to everyone!

This weekend marks the unofficial beginning of summer in the US, the same way that Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial ending. That gives us nine weeks of summer to cherish.

When I was a kid, I was so excited about summertime. A few months with no school obligations and lots of time for fun activities: hanging out with my best friend Regina, who lived a street over; long hours in our backyard pool; weeks away from home spent at summer camp; etc.

It seemed that summers lasted a long time back then. By mid-August, I was typically bored and looked forward to the beginning of the new school year.

Yet as an adult, it seems that summers go by in an instant. One day it's the 4th of July weekend, and seemingly, the next day, it's Labor Day weekend, and we start preparing for the holidays and year-end.

Do your summers fly by as well?

This year, I promised myself to truly take advantage of these nine summer weeks so I can go into fall refreshed and energized. I encourage you to do the same.

While we cannot control outside forces, such as a declining stock market, higher inflation, and current political events, we can be more deliberate about taking care of ourselves. Bringing more fun into our lives is essential for our well-being, along with regular exercise, nutritious food, and getting enough sleep.
