The changing of the seasons is a wonderful time to reflect and set intentions

I love the changing of the seasons.

Not just because I live in New England and I get to see and enjoy all four seasons (okay, I don't enjoy the middle of winter ☃️).

But also because it’s a reflection of how life can be. Or rather, a reminder of how life is. Nothing remains stagnant. Things change all the time. And we change all the time, too. In fact, we need to change and grow to thrive.

I'm spending this weekend in Stowe, Vermont. The leaves have taken on an amazing array of yellow, orange, red, purple, and brown colors. It's spectacular. And it's a clear sign that the season is changing.

As I sat on my hotel room balcony this morning sipping my cup of coffee and watching nature's beautiful colors, I thought about you and all the other people who read my newsletter each week. I thought about your hopes and desires to live a rich, meaningful life ... without burnout and while feeling good in your body.

I’ve been so blessed to work with amazing people like you since I started my yoga business.

And my biggest goal has been to create the tools and support that you need to live your best life. Health is such an important ingredient of that.

As the saying goes, "You can have all the riches and success in the world, but if you don't have your health, you have nothing."

Believe me, I know and I had to learn the hard way.

Fourteen years ago, I was at the peak of my career. From the outside, I was a great success story: I had quickly climbed to a senior position at an investment management firm, I got to hobnob with CEOs of major companies around the globe, and I made more money than I ever dreamt I would. I seemed to have it made!

But the reality was that I was so focused on my career that I didn't make time for self-care, relationships, and outside interests. I was significantly overweight, suffered from chronic back pain, and had trouble sleeping. I knew something had to change and I went searching for answers.

That path eventually led me to yoga and discovering how to live a fulfilled life.

That’s why I created this newsletter and my classes and workshops. And that’s why I continue to show up every week with a new post.

As we all move into the new season, I invite you to pour yourself a cup of tea or coffee and spend a few minutes journaling on the following questions. You can choose to focus on a particular area of your life (health, family, friendships, career, finances, etc.) or your life overall.

  • How have I grown and changed over the past year?
  • What do I need more of in my life? Less of?
  • What is the dream for myself a year from now?

If journaling isn't your thing (even though it's scientifically proven to be more effective at rewiring your thoughts), you can simply ponder those questions in your mind.

If you’re ready for a season of growth in taking care of your body and mind so you can sleep better, get rid of back pain, be less dependent on stimulants, feel less exhausted, and feel better in your body, remember: I’m here for you.

Best,
Christine
