3 Easy Tweaks For a Happier Downward Facing Dog | Yoga Pose Tutorial

I’m excited to share a four-part series of tips for specific yoga poses. Each week, I'll focus on a different pose to help enhance your practice.
Today, I want to focus on a yoga pose that is both loved and dreaded: Downward Facing Dog (also known as Down Dog).
You might have heard yoga teachers call it a "resting pose", which is far from how it might feel in your body. One of my regular students repeatedly asked me to teach a class without any Down Dogs because he found the pose so uncomfortable. 🤪
Despite its challenges, Downward Facing Dog offers numerous benefits: it stretches and elongates your spine, increases the range of motion in your shoulders, and stretches your hamstrings. This pose also helps to calm your mind, relieve stress, and improve your circulation.
To help you feel more at ease in Downward Facing Dog, I recorded a 4-minute YouTube video sharing my 3 tips for a happier Down Dog pose. These simple adjustments can transform your experience and make this pose much more enjoyable.
I hope these tips in the video help you find more comfort and stability in Down Dog.
Best,
Christine
